Rory Liedeman is a senior researcher at the Sustainable Livelihoods Foundation. He holds a B.Soc.Sc(Hons) in Social Anthropology from UCT and a MA (cum laude) in Political Science from the University of the Western Cape. Rory’s key research interests lies in the South African informal economy, in particular, the small grocery retail sector and spaza shops.
