Short CV

Dr Rosalie Kingwill is an academic and applied researcher specialising in land tenure reforms and property systems. Her PhD thesis, completed in 2014, examines the long-term effects of freehold land titles issued to African land holders in the Eastern Cape. Her abiding interest lies in the possibilities and implications of adapting South Africa's property law, and in particular, the property cadastre (surveyed boundaries that correspond with Title Deeds), to strengthen the land rights of the majority of South Africans.
