Simone Schotte is a Research Associate at UNU-WIDER. Before coming to Helsinki, she spent four years at the GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies (Institute of African Affairs) and has worked as a consultant for the World Bank. She attained her PhD in Economics from the University of Göttingen, where she was a member of the Globalisation and Development (GlaD) research training group. Her main research interests include the study of poverty, inequality and labour market dynamics.
