Sumayya has been a researcher in the Development Policy Research Unit (DPRU) at UCT since 2006. She has a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her research interests are in the areas of labour economics, poverty and inequality.
Econ3x3 promotes analysis and debate on unemployment and employment, income distribution and inclusive growth in South Africa. It publishes accessible research- and expertise-based articles and provides a forum for engagement between research and policy making.
