Wandile Sihlobo, an agricultural economist by training and holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Stellenbosch University. He is Chief Economist of the Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa (Agbiz). He was appointed as a member of President Cyril Ramaphosa's Presidential Economic Advisory Council in 2019 after serving on the Presidential Expert Advisory Panel on Land Reform and Agriculture between 2018 and 2019. Sihlobo is also a member of the Council of Statistics of South Africa (Stats SA). He is a Commissioner at the International Trade Commission of South Africa (ITAC). and is a member of the Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA). Sihlobo is is a columnist for Business Day and Farmers Weekly magazine, and an author of “Finding Common Ground: Land, Equity and Agriculture” published by Pan Macmillan in March 2020. He is also a contributor to the book “Recession, Recovery and Reform” published by Jacana in August 2020. Sihlobo's latest book is "A Country of 2 Agricultures" (Tracey McDonald Publishers, 2023)
