Ihsaan Bassier is a lecturer (assistant professor) in economics at the University of Surrey. He is also an affiliated researcher at the London School of Economics and the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. His research interests are in labour and development, with regional expertise on South Africa.
